Annie Lennox
| Annie Lennox, born 25th December 1954 in Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson was her mother and Thomas Allison Lennox was her father. Lennox was accepted to the Royal Academy of Music in London in the 1970s where she learned the flute piano as well as the harpsichord for three consecutive years. Lennox survived off a student's stipend, and worked part-time to help supplement her income. Lennox as she was studying in the Royal Academy of Music in London, was unhappy with her performance as compared to the performance of the other students. Then she began to consider other options. Lennox became part of the group Dragons Playground as the flute player in 1976. But she quit shortly before New Faces, the I.T.V. talent show. She was The singer for The Tourists from 1977 until in 1980. In this band, she met Dave Stewart who would later create Eurythmics. Lennox worked on her solo debut record Diva. It came out in 1993. The album garnered a lot of praise both from the press and critics. Nostalgia Lennoxs six solo album that was released in October 2014 was Nostalgia Lennox. This C.D. Lennox has picked her most favored blues, soul and jazz tunes. In addition in May 2019 Lennox has released Lepidoptera a collection of four piano pieces that she improvised. The E.P. is an accompanying piece of her artwork at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art entitled"Now I'll Let You go... The album is also her first independently released album. Annie Lennox was born in 1954 on 25 December. She is a philanthropist, activist as well as a singer. The Tourists were a new-wave group that had some recognition in the 1970s. Later, Lennox joined fellow musician Dave Stewart to form the pop duo Eurythmics. The album that Lennox released in 1992 Diva produced many successful songs, including Why and Walking on Broken Glass. Medusa the studio album, which was that was released in 1995 features the versions of a few of her biggest hits, such as the No MoreI Still Love Yous (and The Whiter Shade of Pale). Her solo catalog includes six studio albums, as well as one compilation album. |
